The Countdown to Common Core Kindergarten Project is a collaborative effort of partners who value early childhood education. We know that young people can do amazing things. We know that every family wants the very best for their children.
We also know that some families do not know what or how they should be helping their youngster get ready for school. Sometimes "googling" and "facebooking" for answers can be overwhelming and frustrating. Moreover, many children in Rhode Island who could and should be in pre-school are denied access because of funding limitations.
Inspired in part by Providence Talks, through this project, we hope to fill part of this gap in the Blackstone Valley and beyond.
Twice monthly (around the 1st and 15th of each month) we will update this website and e-blast families with a new tip or suggestion to help your child be more ready for kindergarten!

"In many ways, today's kindergarten is what used to be first grade. The bar has been raised."
